They maintain long-term relationships with the same Ethiopian washing stations and cooperatives year over year, and roast in small batches to order rather than to inventory. Founder Natnael Meseret is an Ethiopian-born engineer, certified roaster, and importer, who spent a decade as an electrical engineer supporting the U.S. Army before starting Warka; Betlhem Bekele, a clinical nurse, leads operations.
